What it is.

Paint correction is machine polishing — using rotary or dual-action polishers with cutting compounds and polishes to physically remove a thin layer of clear coat and eliminate surface defects. This is not polishing with a cloth — it's a precise, technical process.

The result is a dramatically improved finish: swirls gone, scratches reduced, paint looking deeper and more reflective. Swirl marks are almost universal — they come from automated car washes, incorrect washing technique, and cloth wiping. Under direct sunlight or artificial light they're immediately visible.

Pricing guide.

Stage 1
£350
Single-stage polish. Removes light swirls, water spots, and surface contamination. Ideal for well-maintained vehicles.
Stage 2
£550
Two-stage cut and polish. Eliminates deeper scratches, heavy swirl marks, and oxidation. Show-car and concours standard.

Stage is determined after a paint depth assessment — we'll advise the right option for your vehicle before any work begins.

Why bother?

Removes defects

Unlike wax or glaze, machine polishing actually eliminates the scratch — not just temporarily hiding it.

Increases resale value

Corrected, properly finished paint adds real money to a private sale price.

Essential before coating

You cannot apply a coating over defects without locking them in permanently.
